Cruciate and knee problems are one of the most common causes of lameness in dogs. Currently the standard of care is surgical repair. Some animals are not surgical candidates and this can make recovery difficult. Other times, the knee is part of a complex problem involving other joints.

How stem cells can help: Adipose derived stem cells can be an alternative to orthopaedic surgery procedures for cruciate ligament injuries. However, if your animal has already had the surgery, the stem cells can promote faster healing and tissue regeneration. Studies have shown that these cells help repair damged cartilage and tissue, decrease inflamattion, heal any damaged cells, and prevent further cell deterioration. It is a completely natural therapy – just the body healing itself with a little help from modern technology.
